Abstract

Syntheses and magnetic behavior of bis(trimethylsilyl)amido tricyclopentylphosphane complexes [M{N(SiMe3)2}2(PCyp3)] of manganese(II), iron(II), and cobalt(II) are described. Crystal structures for this series of rare phosphane adducts of homoleptic bis(trimethylsilyl)amide complexes have been solved. The Fe and Co derivatives have been found to possess large magnetic anisotropy, with zero‐field splitting (ZFS) parameters, D, of –38 and –57 cm–1, respectively. Both compounds exhibit slow relaxation of their magnetization in an applied field.
