Abstract

The relation between Co-ferrite film orientation and film growth conditions was investigated. Varying the sputter conditions in the initial growth period make it possible to produce a film with a [100] dominant azimuth perpendicular to the film surface. The [100]-oriented film could not be obtained without an initial layer, demonstrating that the initial layer plays a very important role in film orientation.
