Abstract
A study has been carried out of desolvation — the most widely occurring reaction in organic solids. Desolvation occurs together with the growth of solvent-free crystals inside the crystal solvate. The growth of solvent-free crystals is absolutely analogous to crystal growth from liquid media. The reversibility of the process has been established and the effect of some physical factors on the course of the reaction has been studied.
