Abstract

AbstractThe [001] oriented alexandrite (BeAl2O4:Cr) single crystals have been grown by the Czochralski pulling technique. The X‐ray topographic investigation indicates that the grown‐in dislocations mainly originate from the seed and propagate along the path normal or nearly perpendicular to the growth interface. The dislocation density and arrangement is closely related to the quality of the seed crystal.
