Abstract
Single crystals of Mn2+ doped tripotassium citrate are grown by slow evaporation method. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study of Mn2+ doped in tripotassium citrate (TPC) single crystal is reported at room temperature (RT). It is observed that Mn2+ ions enter the lattice as a substitutional impurity at K+ ion, and only one site is present. Spin Hamiltonian parameters are determined with the help of large number of resonant lines. The optical absorption study at RT is also done. The observed bands are assigned as transitions from 6A1g(s) ground state to various excited quartet levels. Using these assigned bands, Racah inter-electronic repulsion parameters and cubic crystal field splitting parameter are calculated.
