Abstract

Treatment of Pd(d- t-bpy)Cl 2 (d- t-bpy=4,4 ′-di- tert-butyl-2,2 ′-bipyridine) with sodium 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazolate (NaSSNH 2) or sodium 6-amino-2-mercaptobenzothiazolate (NaSSCNH 2) affords two interesting hydrogen-bonded polymers: [Pd(d- t-bpy)(SSNH 2) 2] ( 1) and [Pd 2(SSCNH 2) 4] ( 2). 1 forms a pseudo 3-D zeolite-like framework. Surprisingly, the lantern-typed 2 · 4DMF has been serendipitously isolated in the same reaction condition, and it displays a rare 2-D hydrogen-bonded network composed of a dimetal unit propagated in the crystal lattice.
