Abstract

Hemangioma is a benign tumor of vascular endothelial cells and is considered by some as a hamartoma. Its diagnosis is clinical, based on anamnesis and regional physical examination. Lymph lesions on the lips can greatly compromise aesthetics and self-esteem, and the treatment can be variable, including surgery, laser therapy, intralesional corticoid, systemic corticoid, sclerotherapy, and cryosurgery, among others. The case presented was of a 17-year-old boy with a purplish, painless, bullous lesion on the left lower lip, extending from the midline to the labial commissure, showing bleeding, and measuring 30 mm, with an evolution of 5 years. Five cycles of freezing and thawing were performed with liquid nitrogen, with biweekly return; for the case presented, 3 sessions were performed. During the third session the symptoms had already improved by more than 90% and with total regression after the third application, restoring the aesthetics and self-esteem.
