Abstract

Cryosurgery has been used successfully in treating certain pharyngeal neoplasms which were considered radioresistant and inoperable. There are definite limitations to the effectiveness of the technique and it is not without significant complications. The observation period in most cases has been about three years. The positive results, therefore, are hopefully curative rather than merely palliative.
