Abstract

In article number 1900203, Mohammad A. Qasaimeh and co-workers utilize filter paper as a unique platform for long-term cryopreservation of mammalian cells. Paper fibers (blue) offer 3D-structural support for cells during cryopreservation and maintain the growth of 3D cell culture and spheroid formations before and after cryopreservation. The confocal image shows a HeLa spheroid formed post-cryopreservation and grown within the paper platform (red: F-actin, blue: nuclei, green: tubulin).
