Abstract

A vacuum tight window on a transmission line is a crucial component when high powered microwave is fed into the exterior atmosphere such as that of a magnetic fusion reactor, an accelerator cavity, or a plasma processing device. In response to design work related to electron cyclotron range of frequency (ECRF) heating system for a large Tokamak, we made a prototype of a cryogenically cooled window with corrugated waveguide in a thermal shield for 1 MW class 110 GHz continuous wave.
