Abstract

AbstractCrouching · Hidden is a building featured with traditional Chinese culture and is a tenon and mortise structure. In the famous movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, the toughness of bamboo is vividly demonstrated via the scene of two martial artists fighting on bamboo. The quality of bamboo represents the dialectical relationship between hardness and softness. Similarly, in terms of spatial organization, open space, and private space constitute two main parts of the structure. Following the scenes in the movie, we adopted the concept of letting people stand on pillars to realize the spatial function. Finally, a two-story building with an area of 9 m2 was completed. Crouching · Hidden is such a fun space, where people can lie down and breathe fresh air, hide and seek, watch the scenery, do yoga, read books, chase, and play, take pictures, enjoy delicacies, etc.KeywordCrouching · HiddenMultifunctional space
