Abstract

Data on protein-protein interactions are increasing exponentially. To date, large scale protein interaction networks are available for human and most model species. The arising challenge is to organize these networks into models of cellular machinery. As in other biological domains, a comparative approach provides a powerful basis for addressing this challenge. In this chapter we review the on-going effort for analyzing protein-protein interaction networks and signalling pathways across species to infer conserved protein modules and predict protein function and interaction.KeywordsProtein PairQuery ProteinTarget NetworkQuery NodeNetwork AlignmentThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
