Abstract

A model of spinless fermions with nested Fermi surface and a quantum critical point due to a charge density wave instability is considered. A ln ( T ) -dependence of C / T and a linear T-dependence of the quasi-particle linewidth is obtained for the tuned quantum critical point. A crossover from Fermi liquid to non-Fermi liquid behavior is obtained with increasing T and nesting mismatch. The above has consequences for the dynamical conductivity and the neutron diffraction quasi-elastic peak of heavy fermions.
