Abstract

The blends of low density polyethylene and additives of flame retardants type were irradiated in a 60Co gamma source and with 13 MeV electrons from linac, at temperature of environment about 20 °C. Esr measurements were performed just after irradiation and after storage at room temperature. It was stated that dominated radical present in the sample depends on the additives, dose and storage time. With increasing dose the overall concentration of radicals in samples irradiated with electrons-decrease. The correlation between ability to allyl radicals formation and efficiency of crosslinking is explained by differences of radicals mobility in the presence and absence of additives.
