Abstract

This paper considers jointly optimal design of cross-layer congestion control and opportunistic scheduling. The cross-layer design aims to maximize the system performance, while guaranteeing multiple QoS (quality of service) constraints for wireless data networks accommodating multiclass services with different quality requirements. We first propose a channel and queue adaptive congestion controller (CQACC) to control the data generation rate. Then, we propose a queue aware multiple QoS opportunistic scheduling (QAMQOS) scheme to allocate the resources. In this paper, we show that combination of QAMQOS and CQACC can lead to high system throughput and multiple QoS guarantee.
