Abstract
One of my biology professors at university was convinced that, by default, biologists have no talent for mathematics. While there may be some truth to this (at least in my case), I always believed the main problem to be the lack of communication (interlanguages) between disciplines. The way biology was taught then was in terms of conserved disciplines without providing the tools to easily cross boundaries and venture into other fields, such as mathematics, physics, biophysics or whatever might have been useful to solve the problem at hand.
