Abstract

With rapid development of automotive industry, people pay more attention to automotive performance of noise, vibration and harshness(NVH). As a significant part of NVH performance, door-slamming sound quality directly affect the purchasing desire of customer. We found problem of NVH performance of door-slamming sound quality, and proposed a new method of reducing the low frequency sound pressure level in order to improve NVH performance while closing the door. In this article, we utilized modal frequency response method and indirect boundary element method to obtain the sound pressure level radiated by main plates of the door. Based on the target of sound pressure level, we built the door main plate thickness mathematical model through hypercube sampling and multiple nonlinear regression method, we also obtained the optimal thickness of the door main plates by genetic algorithm. After comparative analysis, low frequency sound pressure level of modified door has decreased no less than 10 db(A), besides, the modified door has lower loudness and sharpness than original door. So, it can be concluded that NVH performance of optimized door has been improved well. This paper provides reference for research of the high quality passenger car door.
