Abstract

On the basis of the unitary sum rules and of the self-consistency condition for the coupling constant ratios of the static model, the cross section sum rules are reduced to the eigenvector problem. It is shown that the meson-baryon scattering is allowed only in those partial waves in which there is a bound state or a resonance. The pion-nucleon scattering is considered in some detail, and the results obtained for it are compared with experiment.
