Abstract

Summary The article describes the design and the implementation of “Cross Cultural Mentoring“ at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (Berlin School of Economics and Law). “Cross Cultural Mentoring“ aims at motivation and support of the cultural and emotional integration of students from socially underprivileged backgrounds, including fi rst-generation college students and those from migrant families. Profi les, which are based on country of origin and educational background, are used to bring students and their mentors together for the refl ection of social diversity. The results of an empirical study of the programme’s impact on cultural and emotional integration are presented and discussed.
