Abstract
Abstract The starting point is the observation that social economic inequalities are generating serious risks. Culture can then be a key to social and personal solutions. A critical discussion of economics gives the insight that economic activity was everywhere presented as the highest form of social activity. Three lines of research are proposed: progress, scarcity, and rationality. We should stress exchange instead of transfer, then we have the hope in building up, through participation, a system of knowledge and values.
