Abstract

Purpose: Cross-fertilisation of ideas from work in different body sites has aided the development of tissue analogues. Soft tissue work on oral and ocular environments will arguably benefit from cross-fertilisation since material needs show similarities in (e.g.) contact lenses, artificial cornea, dental adhesives and drug delivery systems. Additionally, OOKP surgery has conventionally used oral mucosa in surface reconstruction. The purpose of this work is to aid accurate mimicry of mucosal tissue sites.
