Abstract
In today's era, image fusion is the major technique to enhance the images using multiple images. In this paper, cross-bilateral based image fusion is proposed in wavelet domain. Firstly, images are decomposed using wavelet transform. Approximation parts are fused using weighted average function while detail part is processed by max operation. First intermediate result is obtained using inverse DWT. Original input image is subtracted by first intermediate result. Over subtracted image, cross-bilateral filter is applied to get second intermediate result. Both first and second intermediate results are added to get the final result. The results are tested by various performance metrics and it was found that proposed method gives better outcomes in compare to existing methods.
