Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is commonly grown in rotation with peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) to improve management of peanut pests, including weeds. Field studies were conducted from 1988 through 1990 at Tifton, GA, to determine the effects of crops and weed management systems on weed populations in a corn-corn-peanut rotation. Florida beggarweed [Desmodium tortuosum (Sw.) DC] and yellow nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus L.) were the predominant species in corn where high-input weed management systems were used.
