Abstract
Abstract A description is provided for Cronartium himalayense . Information is included on the diseases, Chir pine blister rust (stem canker of Pinus roxburghii ) and leaf and stem rusts of Swertia species, caused by the organism. Details are given of its transmission, geographical distribution (India (Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand [Uttaranchal]) and Nepal) and hosts ( Pinus canariensis, P. roxburghii, Swertia alata, S. angustifolia and S. cordata ).
