Abstract

Abelson and Rosenberg's work on symbolic psycho-logic has been reviewed by Lambert, and Lambert's review, by Giese. Both of these reviews contained misunderstandings which are pointed out here. Abelson and Rosenberg's fourth rule is reexamined from both mathematical and psychological standpoints. Formal criteria for translating between set-theoretic and matrix systems are proposed.
