Abstract

This article carries the critique of Fei Hsiao-t'ung's sociology a step further, relating it not just to Malinowskian functionalism, but also to the broader sweep of sociology. The bourgeois sociology advocated by Fei Hsiao-t'ung and others is, according to Li, idealist, hostile to objective laws of social development, anti-Marxist, reformist, and an apologetic for capitalism and imperialism.
