Abstract

Abstract Theatre and puppet director Alexander Morfov has been slowly revolutionizing Bulgarian theatre over the last 25 years. His most important contribution to this theatre is its emancipation from prejudice against stage spectacle. He has achieved this by ingeniously fusing the languages of drama and puppet theatre, which remains the only truly original and novel theatre reality on Bulgarian stages. The article focuses mainly on his performance On the Edge.
