Abstract

This paper presents experimental data on typical tensile fractures in a symmetric adhesively bonded joint and on three-dimensional stress states in connecting members, in regions of lamination discontinuities. Three-dimensional distributions of normal and shear stress components were determined using techniques of analytical and optical isodynes. Normal and shear stress components in connecting members were determined at various distances from the ends of connected members and at various distances from lamination planes.
