Abstract

Knowledge is perceived as a modern day science across the globe and more particularly in the gulf region area. Hence, there is an evident lack of knowledge management as well as management applications. This absence is what motivated this research in the knowledge management field in relation to universities. Colleges and universities in the gulf region have not effectively adopted knowledge management hence leading to poor knowledge management and consequently difficulty in achieving the organizational goals and objectives. The study revolves around the critical success factors that can be considered for the implementation of knowledge management in universities present in the gulf area. The most important results of the research are that leadership in knowledge management and organizational culture are the most significant critical success factors to the implementation of knowledge management in Gulf Area universities.
