Abstract

ABSTRACT This article provides a critical and comprehensive overview of the key research advancements in the field of graphene and its polymer nanocomposites. Various synthesis processes of graphene, graphene nanoplatelets and carbon nanotube are reviewed critically, supported by different research, while the incorporation of graphene and its derivatives within polymer matrices are demonstrated in detail. In addition, the investigation of polymer nanocomposites characteristics filled with different carbon nanofillers in terms of the mechanical, thermochemical, electrical, and thermal properties are discussed. Finally, the conclusions and outlooks are summarized.
