Abstract
A detailed analysis of high-resolution magnetisation data reveal that the critical behaviour of chemically well-homogenised high-purity disordered Cr 70Fe 30 and Cr 75Fe 25 alloys near the paramagnetic (PM)–ferromagnetic (FM) phase transition is similar to that of a three-dimensional Heisenberg ferromagnet. An ion-beam sputtered Cr 70Fe 30 thin film of 9.4 nm thickness exhibits the same critical behaviour as that of the bulk Cr 70Fe 30.
