Abstract

The interface debonding is a major failure mode of composite structures. In this paper, the debonding behavior of the structurally asymmetric interfaces is studied, and the calculating method of the critical energy release rate of such debonding interfaces is proposed. The experimental results show that the critical energy release rate calculated in this paper is more in line with its intrinsic physical attribute of being a material constant, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed method.
