Abstract

Alternating current measurements on Nb 3Al have shown that large amounts of the sample are driven normal at relatively low fields. Small variations of T c are associated with very large variations of H c2 , caused, most probably, by varying degrees of disorder. These regions of low H c2 material may explain the low critical current densities measured in Nb 3Al and other A-15 superconductors.
