Abstract

Eu‐Ba‐Cu‐O thick films with nominal compositions of Eu:Ba:Cu=1.18:2.12:3.09 were prepared on (100)YSZ substrates by a screen‐printing method. The films were partially melted in flowing 0.1%O2+Ar at various melting temperature and oxygenated in pure oxygen. Eu‐Ba‐Cu‐O films showed Tc value of around 90 K and a dense microstructure with little pores. The transport Jc value at 77 K and 0 T of the film was strongly depended on melting temperature. A high Jc value more than 3 × 103Acm−2 at 77 K and 0 T with an excellent reproducibility was attained for the sample melted over a wide temperature range of 1040 – 1070°C. Furthermore, the field dependence of transport Jc value for Eu‐Ba‐Cu‐O thick films was examined at 77 K in applied magnetic fields up to 12 T. A Jc value higher than 103 Acm−2 was obtained at applied magnetic field lower than 0.5 T, and a Jc value higher than 102 Acm−2 at 77 K was maintained in the magnetic field up to 8 T. Although a Jc value gradually decreased with increasing applied magnetic f...
