Abstract

This paper proposed a novel analog-based critical conduction mode (CRM) control method for the three-phase three-level Vienna rectifier. By the proposed method, the simple analog CRM control can be achieved in each phase of the Vienna rectifier. All the control schemes are implemented with three low-cost analog CRM PFC IC controllers. Experimental results demonstrate that zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) and valley-switching (VS) are indeed achieved, and a high power factor of 0.994 is tested at a 3.2 kW three-phase Vienna rectifier.
