Abstract
Measurements of attenuation of longitudinal and transversal acoustic waves in the gigahertz frequency range have been made from helium to room temperature on MnF 2 and particularly in the vicinity of T n . The temperature of the attenuation maximum occurs below T n and is frequency dependent. The Temperature shift of the maximum is of the order of a few degrees.
