Abstract

Based on analysis of the force parameters acting on the material to be milled in medium- and high-speed mills, a generalizing inertial factor, which determines the effect of inertial forces on the material disintegration process (ratio of modulus of vector sum of inertial forces to gravity force), is introduced. This factor has been used to establish a relationship between the magnitude and direction of action of forces and the value of disintegrating stresses. It is shown that at certain values of the inertial factor, the stresses generated in the material due to the action of inertial forces exceed the disintegrating forces.
