Abstract

The possibility of providing a high level of mechanical properties in ceramic materials is proved experimentally by using hot pressing of highly active powders of silicon nitride obtained by plasmachemical synthesis (PCS) and self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). The requirements placed on the powders of silicon nitride used for the production of high-density and high-strength materials widen substantially.
