Abstract

This research marks a significant milestone by proposing a set of comprehensive criteria for building residential arrangement models on Vietnam's coastal island system. The unique characteristics of these islands, such as their limited space and resources, pose complex challenges for population placement. Therefore, establishing the proper criteria for population placement is crucial and pivotal to ensure this area's sustainable and harmonious development. The author has meticulously derived 13 essential criteria from various data sources, including articles, project topics, field surveys, and expert consultations. These criteria are not just a theoretical framework but a practical tool to build a reasonable population arrangement model to bring sustainable, diverse, and harmonious development to the island community.
