Abstract

ABSTRACT Since the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the EU has been concerned about the dissemination of disinformation in times of crisis. A mandatory Crisis Response Mechanism in the Digital Services Act is intended to counteract its dissemination via very large providers. However, the mechanism's weaknesses could trigger a far greater crisis for the free opinion-forming process.
