Abstract

This paper examines selected legal regulations related to the organization of the elections for the office of the President of the Republic of Poland in 2020 in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the author’s opinion, the issue of criminal-law protection of voting deserves scholarly attention. Considerations will be made in relation to the law enacted in 2020 in the conditions of the Sars-CoV-2 virus spreading. With regard to specific issues, the research was based on the views of the doctrine, judicial decisions and documents of the Council of Europe on electoral law. The purpose of this article is to investigate the institutions of electoral criminal law established in the episodic act in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. The legal regulation analysed in this study has not been implemented because the prohibited acts specified in Art. 18 of the Act of April 6, 2020 have been repealed by the Act of June 2, 2020.
