Abstract

The article deals with the theme of urban violence. The general objective is to analyzewhether the lack of access to elements linked to urbanization influences the practice ofIntentional Lethal Violent Crimes (ILVC) in the city of Porto Velho-RO. The specific objectives were: a) To collect records of intentional homicide, theft followed by death andpersonal injury resulting in death between the years 2010 to 2018; b) Analyze throughdescriptive statistics possible relationships between ILVC and urban services. The approach is quanti-qualitative with an exploratory phase followed by a description using thebibliographic research, in addition to supporting analysis in the Microphysics of Tavaresdos Santos’ violence. As a result, it was considered that ILVC in the unit of analysis has nodirect relationship with existing public services. However, the research points to the needfor further studies to help understand the relationship between crime and urban expansion in the city of Porto Velho, part of the Amazon biome.
