Abstract
Crime prevention can be declined in several forms, all aimed at the reduction and containment of the amount of crime and the damage it does. In this paper, the focus is towards the international context of crime prevention programs and those that, in the light of evidence-based methodology, are particularly effective. When prevention programs work produce a cost/benefit ratio very significant in favor of the whole community.
