Abstract

Criconema bakeri n. sp. was collected in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada, from soil under a sugar maple tree (Acer saccharum Marsh) in July, 1961. It is similar to Criconema. inaequale Taylor, 1936, in having transparent cuticular outgrowths that are not in definite longitudinal rows, but differs in that the anterior flap of the vulva extends backward characteristically, overlapping most of the following annule, which is pressed caudad showing a button-like projection, distinguishing it from C. inaequale and other species.
