Abstract

This study applied content analysis for the collection, organization, and analyses of the related literature. The purpose was to propose the plans and designs for the teaching activities of the teaching with the innovative teaching material, based on the basic design curriculum offered by the Department of Commercial Design in a Technology University in Central Taiwan for the freshmen from Class A, which was a 16-week curriculum with 4hours per week, with integration of teaching, discussions, and the expression teaching method, emphases on students’ individual differences, in order to create the context and characteristics required for the innovative thinking teaching method, so that student-oriented creative teaching can be performed. The digital art creations of the teaching materials were offered to students as references to create their picture books.
