Abstract

The aim of this paper is to highlight the creative way of life of M. G. Stetsiun in the context of the academic folk instrumental art of Ukraine.Research methodology. The study investigates this issue by examining the creative path of the outstanding composer, Honored Artist of Ukraine Mykola Stetsiun. This theme is quite relevant in the contemporary music space. The purpose of the article is to study the composer’s creative work of M. Stetsun in the context of the academic folk instrumental art of Ukraine.Results. The results of the study include the novelty of previously unexplored issues of creativity and creative personality of the composer. The issues, which bear the biographical information of the composer from his childhood and to the present, are outlined. Historical facts from the biography of the composer are illustrated. The article describes the first steps of the beginning composer, his first works and where and how they were written. In detail, all periods of the creative biography, the period of childhood in Bakhmut (Artemivsk), education at the Artemivsk State Music College, the period of military service, education at the Kharkiv National Ivan Kotlyarevsky University of Arts, the periods of work at the Slavic Pedagogical Institute and the Kharkiv Cultural Education College, the periods of work at Kharkiv National Ivan Kotlyarevsky University of Arts and as the head of the Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic. The author analyzes the genres in which the composer writes, and the role of song creativity is defined. The role of wife and daughter is highlighted as the brightest performers of his songs. Every step of M. Stetsiun is analyzed on the way toward an artistic personality becoming as an outstanding composer.Novelty of this paper consists in the generalization of creative path of an outstanding composer M. Stetsiun in the context of academic folk instrumental art of Ukraine. The practical significance consists in providing the important facts about composer’s way of life, people who support him, his creativity and importance in the folk instrumental art of Ukraine.
