Abstract

Interdisciplinary design is an important aspect of engineering work. Opportunities for collaboration between disciplines exist at the undergraduate level through engineering competitions and senior design courses. To be successful, the various groups must be aware of the needed synergy and must develop cross-disciplinary communication. This article describes the collaborative design process for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) between an IEEE competition team and an aerospace engineering senior design team.
