Abstract

ABSTRACTWhile the topic of international students and faculty has gained much interest in research scholarship, it is important to reorganize the existing literature which continues to share narratives from a deficit model The authors aim to explore the strengthening of the multilingual abilities of international counselor educators by including creative member-checking procedures in a qualitative grounded theory study. Six participants engaged in this study, showcasing their experiences in a creative manner as they developed their professional identity as counselor educators in the U.S. Additionally, this article recommends creative member-checking processes as a strategy to address racist nativism and microaggressions toward multilingual counselor educators, whose first language is not English.
