Abstract

'Creative Classrooms' CCR are conceptualized as innovative learning environments that fully embed the potential of ICT to innovate learning and teaching practices in formal, non-formal and informal settings. The proposed multi-dimensional concept for CCR consists of eight encompassing and interconnected key dimensions. In order to support experimentation and implementation of these key dimensions of CCR, a set of 28 reference parameters 'building blocks' is proposed. The aim is twofold: i to unravel the most innovative elements of the multi-dimensional CCR concept and ii to depict the systemic approach needed for the sustainable implementation and progressive mainstreaming of Creative Classrooms across Europe. Last but not least, two cases of ICT-enabled innovation for learning are presented showing how CCR building blocks are combined and implemented in real-life settings configuring profoundly diverse types of CCR.
