Abstract

Background: Delirium is well-described in critically ill adult patients and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. It is highly prevalent in adult palliative care and at the end of life. Delirium is similarly prevalent and problematic in acutely ill children. Recognition of delirium in hospitalized pediatric palliative care patients is imperative, though with lack of consensus regarding pediatric delirium treatment, management of delirium can vary.
